Reporting Mortgage Fraud and Identity Theft
Amres will never ask you to confirm your account number, PIN, password or any other personal information via e-mail, text or voice call. If you are concerned that you have received a fraudulent e-mail, text, call, disclosed confidential information, or have questions about security, immediately contact Amres at 1-844-242-6656.
To report fraud at the three major credit bureaus, contact their fraud departments and request that a fraud alert be placed on your credit file.
Equifax: 1-800-525-6285
Experian: 1-888-397-3742
TransUnion: 1-800-680-7289
Next, in order to protect your rights, close the accounts that you know or believe have been tampered with, and contact all of your banks, credit card issuers and other creditors to report the fraud or identity theft.
Finally, you may file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which maintains a database of fraud and identity theft cases used by law enforcement for investigations, and they can advise you on your next steps. You may also report identity theft to the FTC by calling 1-877-382-4357.
